The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association [GABA]/Lets Bet Sports, knockout tournament will officially commence on Friday at the Burnham Court, Middle and Carmichael Streets.
The event will commence with the U23 section. In the opening match at 18:30hrs, Sonics will lock horns with University of Guyana [UG] Trojans with Kobras scheduled to match skills with Eagles in the feature affair at 20:30hrs.
The event continues on Saturday at the same venue with the semi-final round of the U23 section. The first match will pit Pacesetters against the winner of the Sonics/UG Trojans clash at 18:30hrs.
In the second fixture, Plaisance Guardians will match skills with the victor of the Kobras and Eagles clash from 20:30hrs. The winners will advance to the final on March 17th at 20:30hrs, with the losers battling in the third place playoff from 18:30hrs.
The event which is sponsored by the Guyana Lottery Company, continues on March 19th at the same venue with the commencement of the second and first divisions respectively.
The second division will feature five teams competing in a single elimination tournament. The opening match will pit Sonics against Vikings.
The victor of that clash will advance to the semi-final round, alongside the trio of Guardians, Pacesetters and Eagles.
Similarly, the first division will commence with Sonics battling UG Trojans. The aforesaid section will feature eight teams and will last for the duration of seven days.
