Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) yesterday took day one honours and was closing in on victory against the Transport Sports Club (TSC) at stumps on day one at Police in the weekend’s lone fixture in the GISE, Star Party Rental and Trophy Stall First Division two-day competition.

Twenty-five wickets tumbled on the day, nine of which came on TSC first innings score of 101 for nine declared.

Only opening batsman Cherwayne Mc Pherson showed any resolve during his knock of 47 as his side was rocked by seamer Keon Morris who grabbed 4-22 while skipper Steven Jacobs (2-29) and leg-spinner Wayne Bollers (2-13) gave support.
