Guyana’s female national hockey team yesterday dropped their bronze medal match against Kazakhstan on the final day of the Field Hockey Canada (FHC) Invitational Indoor Hockey Tri-Nation series in Canada.
Playing at the University of Toronto’s Athletic Centre, the South Americans lost 1-4 to Kazakhstan who they had defeated in the opening round of the series.
The lone strike for the Guyanese was converted by Trisha Woodroffe.
The Guyanese in the semi-final match lost 0-1 on a sudden-death penalty shootout after drawing 2-2 on regular penalty.
They match had to be decided by penalty after a 1-1 deadlock following the final regular time whistle where Nicole Eastman converted for the Guyanese.
