The opening day of the 2019 Caribbean Region Table Tennis Federation (CRTTF) senior championship saw host Guyana recording striking performances to edge closer to capturing gold at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).

The men’s unit, coached by former Caribbean men’s singles champion and USA-based Sydney Christophe, playing out of group two, booked a place in the semis after recording a win and a loss; they were defeated by one of the pre tournament’s favourites, the Dominica Republic 3-0 while they rebounded to defeat St Lucia 3-1 to secure their place in the last six. It was unknown up to press time who they will face in the semis today.
