Water Plant stays unbeaten

Tournament favourite Water Plant continued its unbeaten run, crushing Trisco by 39 runs on Thursday in the Banks DIH Limited Inter-Department tapeball cricket championships.

Played at the Thirst Park ground, Water Plant recorded an imposing 128-2 from their allotted 10 overs.

A. Bolo smashed 60 runs with C. Bagot the next best scorer with 33. In reply, Trisco could only muster 89-6 from their allotment of overs.

T. Abel was the top scorer with 21 runs. A. Bolo once again made his presence felt, recording bowling figures of 3-7 in his two-over spell.

On Wednesday at the same venue, Water Plant dismantled Central Service by 44 runs.

Batting first, Water Plant smashed 99 runs in the reduced five-overs-a-side contest. C. Bagot top scored with 41 not out while Bolo supported with an unbeaten 30.

Central Service in response, ended on 55-5. J. Medas and J. McAllister scored 22 and 15 runs respectively.

The second match of the night witnessed Sales Department defeating defending champions Distribution/Warehouse by five wickets.

 The champions tallied 80-6 from their 10 overs with V. Beckles and G. Ross scoring 42 and 16 runs each. J. Scott was the pick of the bowlers with 2-7.

 In reply, Sales romped to 81-5 in 7.3 overs powered by a 51-run effort from J. Scott. On Monday, Distribution/Warehouse defeated Stores by 42 runs.

 Distribution/Warehouse amassed 106-2 in their allotted 10 overs. V. Beckles and W. Yussuf recorded 40 and 38 runs respectively.

 In reply, Stores struggled to 64-9 at the expiration of the allotted overs. R. Dublin was the only batsman in double figure with 29 runs as R. Wallace registered bowling figures of 5-5.

In the second match, Central Service defeated Brewery by 20 runs. Central recorded 119-5 in 10 overs with J. McAllister amassing 73 runs.

 Brewery in reply, could only muster 99-6. N. Mendonca and E. Hinds scored 22 and 19 runs each.
