Ten-man Fruta Conquerors defeats GPF 4-2

Defending champion Fruta Conquerors overcame newcomer Guyana Police Force [GPF] 4-2 when the Guyana Football Federation [GFF] Elite League resumed on Friday at the Eve Leary ground.

Despite being reduced to 10 players following a Rishawn Sandiford red card in the 39th minute, the Tucville giant secured the result led by a double from emerging start Nicholas McArthur.

The nippy winger bagged a double in the 10th and 90th minute, with Vurlon Mills and Eon Alleyne scoring in the 33rd and 88th minute respectively.

For the loser, Travis Jones and Steffon Ramsay found the back of the net in the 53rd and 83rd minute correspondingly.

Meanwhile, Santos downed Ann’s Grove 2-0. Orin Yarde and Dorwin George scored in the first and 44th minute respectively.

 The event will resume today at the Den Amstel ground with a doubleheader. Western Tigers will engage Victoria Kings at 14:00hrs, with Den Amstel battling Buxton United from 16:00hrs.
