Police run out of `ammo’ in semifinal loss to Everest

Andrew Lyght Jr.

Police Sports Club (PSC), in sorry batting display, surrendered to Everest by 56 runs in the first semifinal of New Building Society second division forty overs tournament at the Demerara Cricket Club last evening under lights.

Police chasing 239 for victory and a place in the final, began their reply like a house on fire, racing to 111 without loss at the end of the 10th over.

Fireworks came off the bat of Andrew Lyght Jr who swatted nine huge sixes and a four in a savage knock of 72. However, his demise saw the cops folding for 182 in the 35th over as Kemol Savory (27) and number 11 batsman Raun Johnson (20*) were the only other batsmen to reach twenty in the collapse.
