GVF national female volleyball festival serves off today 

The Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) is set to spike off a National Female Volleyball Festival from today at the National Gymnasium, starting from 09:30hrs.

 The two-day event is part of the federation’s preparations for the upcoming inter-Guianas Volleyball tournament in French Guiana from May 2-4.

 The event, according to the president of the federation Levi Nedd, is expected to see the participation of a number of local clubs from across the country including Castrol Strikers, Vanguards, CBB, Port Mourant Females, Pakuri Warriors, Glasgow Rangers, and Fluffy Girls.

 Teams are required to pay a participation fee of G$5,000 as trophies, medals and hampers will be up for grabs. Additionally, there will be awards for the tournament’s MVP, Best Setter, Best Spiker, Best blocker, and Best Defender. The tournament is sponsored by Benny Sukra, Anil Lalsa and Nedd.
