Chreistianburg/Wismar wins Milo Secondary Schools football c/ships

The victorious Christianburg/Wismar unit of Linden posing with the coveted Milo Secondary School Football Championship after defeating Lodge Secondary 1-0 at the Ministry of Education ground.

Christianburg/Wismar defeated Lodge Secondary 1-0 on Sunday in the final of the Milo Secondary Schools football championships at the Ministry of Education ground.

Andre Mayers, the event’s eventual Most Valuable Player [MVP] and joint highest goal scorer alongside Lodge Secondary’s Dorwin George, recorded his 10th conversion in the 67th minute to seal the victory, following a scoreless opening half.

With the win, the Linden unit pocketed $500,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy, with the losing team collecting $300,000 towards a school initiative and a trophy.
