In the latest round of the Enmore Community Centre Cricket Club/SPR Enterprise 40-overs tournament, Ogle defeated Mahaica Sports Club by 186 runs at the Ogle Ground while Enterprise eased to a five-wicket win over Strathavon on Sunday.

At Ogle, the hosts won the toss and took first strike, piling up 263-6 from their allotted overs before restricting the visitors to a paltry 77 in 19.1 overs.

Ogle’s batting centered around Khemchandra Dindyal who was left stranded on 82, an innings  highlighted by three fours and four sixes.

Dindyal was supported by Andrew Samaroo who smacked four boundaries on his way to 74.

Zaheer Mohammed followed up his 3-41 with a match winning knock of 61 not out for Enterprise.

The pair shared a 101-run partnership for the third wicket before Samaroo was bowled by Shaliendra Singh.

Earlier, Samaroo constructed a second-wicket partnership of 72 with Khemraj Jaikaran who made 38, laced with two fours and one six.

Eleven-year-old leg-spinner, Danesh Persaud picked up two late wickets to end with 2-26 while Singh returned 2-33.

In reply, medium pacer, Ayatha Joseph ripped through the batting order taking  4-21 including the wicket of top scorer and the only batsman to reach double figures, Hemraj Garbaran who made 16.

Dambuka Nqguando (2-33) and Dion Thomas (1-38) laid the platform for Joseph’s onslaught, after reducing Mahaica to 39-4 with Rudranauth Kisssoon finishing things off with 1-3 in two overs.

Meanwhile, Enterprise Busta Sports Club defeated Strathavon at Strathavon.

After being asked to bat, Strathavon managed 194 all out in 20 overs and in reply Enterprise reached 197-5 in 37.5 overs.

Gobinran Hemraj anchored Strathavon with a composed 85 with nine fours and two sixes before B. Deodat (2-25) trapped him leg before wicket.

Hemraj was supported by his 53-year-old father, Daiaram, who made a brisk 21 that included a  solitary six and four. The father-son pair put on 56 for the fifth wicket. Hemraj’s brother, Chandrapaul also got among the runs, scoring 25.

Zaheer Mohammed picked up 3-41 and Vivian Albert bagged 2-34.

In the chase, Mohammed returned to carve eight fours and one six on his way to an unbeaten 61 that steered his side to victory with support coming from Arif Habib (26), Albert (24) and Rohan Mangal (29).

Kevin Latiff looked to keep Strathavon in the match, picking up 3-45 with his left-arm spin.
