Wins for Den Amstel, GDF as GFF Elite League continues

The Guyana Defence Force [GDF] and Den Amstel secured victories, when the GFF Elite League Championship continued yesterday at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground.

The army unit outflanked newcomer Santos 3-0. Darrel George handed the former champion the lead in the 20th minute, before Delroy Fraser made it 2-0, as he found the back of the net four minutes onward.

This lead was maintained heading into the halftime interval. The score would eventually be sealed in the dying moments of the 90 minute affair, as Olvis Mitchell made his presence felt.  Meanwhile, second half goals from Delon Lanferman and Jamal Harvey secured a 2-0 victory for Den Amstel against the Guyana Police Force. Following a scoreless first half, Lanferman opened the scoring compliments of a 69th minute conversion.

Harvey then sealed the result, as etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 89th minute. The event continues on Wednesday at 19:00hrs at the Georgetown Football Club [GFC] ground.

Defending champion Fruta Conquerors will match skills with Ann’s Grove from 19:00hrs.
