DeNobrega wins Chin Chan Road Race

Team Evolution’s Paul De Nobrega rode away with the third annual Chin Chan road race last Sunday on the East Bank of Demerara.

DeNobrega, 24, completed the 55-mile race that began at Grove with cyclists heading to Coca Cola sign on the Linden Soesdyke Highway and back in a time of two hours, 25 minutes and 55 seconds (02:25:55), according to race official, Joseph Britton.

He was trailed by Linden’s Michael Anthony,   Berbician Curtis Dey, Andre Greene, Alanzo Ambrose and Andrew Hicks, who rounded out the top six finishers in that order.

 In the juniors division, Ajay Gopilall won with  Ralph Seenarine second while David Hicks won the juvenile race with Jonathan Ramsuchit second.

Junior Niles won the veterans Under-50 category with Paul Choo-Wee-Name and Raymond Newton second and third respectively.

The veterans over-50 category was won by Raymond Newton while Clavisa Spencer won the women’s race.

The mountain bike category was won by Shane Bourne with Ozia McAullay the runner up.

Apart from Chin Chan Cycle Store other sponsors were Cube Davis, Owner of Team Coco’s, Tony Chung Auto Body Works and Mark Duke-McWray Auto Body Works all of the USA.
