Skipper Sanjay Stanley and his bowlers orchestrated a commanding eight-wicket win for Tri-State over defending champions the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) in the final of the GCA/American Youth Premier Cricket League Under-19 Cricket Competition yesterday at the Everest Cricket Club (ECC), Ground.

DCC, batting first in the rain-affected fixture, was bundled out for 96 inside 26 overs. Only National under – 15 batsman Jaden Campbell (20) and Ezekiel Wilson (22) got into the twenties in a sorry batting effort as Tamesh Persaud (3 – 17) and Adil Shivkumar (3-16) shared six wickets between them to spearhead the rout.

The US based side in response raced to 100 for 2 in 19 overs with Stanley easing four fours and a solitary maximum to complete the win and help dethrone the defending champions. Saiteja Mukkamalla, who struck three fours in a knock of 26 was also among the runs.
