When the dust settled at the Lusignan Golf Club yesterday it was Kassim Khan, Azrodeen Shaw and Romel Bhagwandin emerging victorious in their respective A-C flights in the Pre-Father’s Day tournament sponsored by Survival Supermarket.
Despite playing under cool conditions and lush greenery, of the 17 golfers who took to the course, only a few managed to complete the course and secure prizes.
Acting Club captain, Joaan Deo had the longest drive while Troy Cadogan secured the nearest to the pin.
In the A flight, with handicap of 0-10, Khan pipped Patrick Persaud for the title after both ended with scores of 82/73.
However, Khan managed 40 in the back nine while Persaud went one stroke more that eventually proved costly.
The B flight saw Shaw securing 83/67, ahead of William Walker with 81/68.
Bhagwandin comfortably won the C flight category with 87/66 as his nearest competitor, Balgobin Rajnauth managed 95/74.
Club President, Aleem Hussain thanked the sponsors for their continued trust in the Club while extending Father’s Day greetings to all the fathers. (Romario Samaroo)
