Group-A winner Mighty Ruler will tackle Police while group-B victor Beacons battles Walking Boys in the semi-final round of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Bartica Championship.

Mighty Ruler displayed their championship credentials in front of a mammoth crowd at the Bartica Community Centre Tarmac on Saturday, recording two wins in as many matches.

The perfect record was achieved by the veteran outfit with wins over Prison Service and Potaro United. Prison Service fell 2-0 while Potaro United was hammered 6-0.

The next assignment for Mighty Ruler will be the Police. In the first match, the lawmen defeated Rivers View 2-1.

They would suffer defeat in their second match, going down to Goal-Raiders 3-1. However, their superior goal difference secured their place in the final four.

Meanwhile, the highly-touted Beacons outfit strolled into the semi-finals with  lopsided wins over Goal-Raiders and Rivers View respectively.

Beacons mauled Goal-Raiders 6-2 in their opening match, before returning to make light work of Rivers View 3-0.

Walking Boys lost to Potaro United 2-0 in their first fixture  but the defeat did not deter the newcomers who needled Prison 1-0.
