Stage set for Kennard’s Post-Emancipation meet

The stage is set for the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Grand Post-Emancipation meet which is scheduled to be run off on August 4 at the club’s track at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.

The annual event has been one of the country’s traditions over the years and this year’s meet is being deemed one of the biggest in recent times.

In excess of $4m in prizes will be up for grabs on the seven-race card with the feature C and Lower one-mile event having a $700,000 prize for the winner.

Princess She Is Not, Jack In My Style, Lady Budapest, Spit Fire, Golden Blue Echo, Goodwill Boy, Red and Lovely, Just Call Me Boss and Quiet Storm are the race horses down to contest this event.

In the co-feature H and Lower race, the winning steed will take home $240,000 for its owner.

Other races carded on the provisional programme are the L Open ($160,000), L Non-Winner ($140,000), L Non Earner ($120,00) , the Two-year-old Guyana bred ($200,000) and J and K Lower ($180,000).

Action starts at 13:30hrs.
