Grove Hi-Tech takes charge in GFF/NAMILCO U-17 football tourney

Grove Hi-Tech, Agricola Red Triangle and Mocha Champs secured wins when the East Bank Demerara zone in the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power U-17 League continued on Saturday.

Staged at the National Training Facility, Providence, East Bank Demerara, Grove Hi-Tech crushed Diamond United 7-1.

Samuel Garnett led the rout with a double in the 11th and 16th minute, with Devon Padmore adding a double in the fourth and 33rd minute, and Rasheed Evans adding two goals in the seventh and 34th minute.

Assisting with a 68th minute effort was Solomon Ward. For the loser, Carlos Wilkie netted in the 45th minute.

Similarly, Agricola clipped Soesdyke Falcons 7-0. Demanie Corte recorded a brace in the 18th and 27th minute, alongside doubles from Floyd Boyce in the 33rd and 57th minute and Brian Lambert in the 40th and 62nd minute. Adding a goal in the 60th minute was Ryan Roberts.

Meanwhile, Mocha Champs downed Friendship All Stars 4-1. Genesis Lewis, Yohance Porter, Tyreece Powell and Anthony McRae scored in the 33rd, 39th, 45th and 58th minute respectively. For Friendship, Stephon Harry scored in the 56th minute.
