Vadeanand Resaul, who is one of Guyana’s most promising junior lawn tennis players has ended his tour of Antigua on a winning note, capturing the doubles title at the Antigua COTECC Wadadli Bowl 2019 Under – 14  tournament.

The Guyanese, who was eliminated in the quarter finals of the singles category, teamed up with Antonio Warner of Bermuda to take top honours in the doubles category.

After coasting through the preliminary rounds, the pair accounted for Nathen Martin (TTO) and Jaiden Julien (USA) 7/5, 6/3 in the semis.

Resaul and Warner were clinical in the final as they disposed of Justyn Raeburn and Jace Quashie 6/0, 6/3 to lift the crown and to cap off a meaningful stint in Antigua.

Prior to that tournament, the 13- year-old Marian Academy student took part in the COTECC Trinidad Summer Bowl Under – 14 championships where he was stopped in the quarterfinals of the singles category.

He subsequently  went on to team up with Martin to clinch the runners up spot in the doubles category.

“I am more than satisfied with my performance; it was really amazing to have such a great experience and exposure.  I learnt and benefited a lot from the two tournaments.”

His immediate goal is to represent Guyana at the upcoming Inter Guyana games.
