The Mouse-coloured Antshrike occurs across the Guiana Shield, eastern Ecuador and Peru, and south to northernmost Bolivia.

It is mostly grey with a faintly darker crown and dark yellowish-brown wings.

Pairs or lone individuals of Mouse-coloured Antshrikes feed anywhere from close to the ground to the subcanopy, searching for insects, spiders, and other arthropods.
