Jamaul John kicked off his 2020 campaign in fine style on Saturday at the National Park, sprinting away with the spoils of the feature 35-lap event of the 27th Ricks and Sari multi-race event.

In a thrilling five-man sprint finish, John edged out fellow national riders, Michael Anthony, Paul DeNobrega, Kemuel Moses and Christopher Moses to win the season opener.

Andrew Hicks finished close behind to take the final top six spot.

John, who also earned a sprint prize, won the event in perfect conditions for racing in 1hr:19m.07s.

 Anthony took two sprint prizes, Marcus Keiler  also won two while Stephano Husbands, DeNobrega and Ajay Gopilall copped one apiece.

Meanwhile, Lennox Jackman (BMX 6-9), Jason Primo (BMX 9-12), Jeremiah Joseph (Juveniles), Eybo Orford (Novices), Warren McKay (Veteran’s U-50) and Shameer Baksh (Veteran’s O-50) were winners in their respective categories on Saturday during the event which was organized by Hassan Mohamed.

The local 2020 cycling season continues next Saturday at the National Park with the R&R International 11-race programme.
