The accused, who was represented by attorney Mursaline Bacchus, was not required to enter a plea to the charge.

He is due to return to court on June 25 for his next hearing.

Saturday last, police, acting on information received, went to Stone Creek Backdam, in Mahdia, where they arrested Sheriff.

In a wanted bulletin issued last Friday afternoon, the police had said that Sheriff, 29, whose last known address was given as Patrick Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was wanted for questioning in relation to the murder of Nicholson.

This newspaper had reported that Nicholson, 33, succumbed at the George-town Public Hospital (GPH) on March 18, some 10 days after he was allegedly involved in an altercation with Sheriff.
