No new COVID-19 case, 22 tests done

No new Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) case was reported yesterday.

The total number of positive cases in the country remains at 156 while the number of active cases has now decreased to 52. With that, the number of persons who have recovered from the virus increased by six making it a total of 92 persons.

Twenty-two  more tests were done during the last round of testing which increased the total number of persons tested for the virus to 1,876. The number of deaths as a result of the virus remains the same even as one person remains in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The number of persons in institutional isolation stands at 6.

When Stabroek News contacted Terrence Esseboom, Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Public Health, he revealed that the two new cases that were recorded on Tuesday were from Regions One and Three.

According to information received, the case from Region One also hails from the Moruca village which now increases the total number of cases in that community to 10.
