Former Guyana under-17 batsman, Marvan Prashad is currently trapped in the United States due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic. However, the former Guyana under-15 captain is showing his worth in the ‘Big Apple’ scoring a blistering century lately.

Prashad, who captained the Guyana under-15 side in 2017, stroked an impressive century in Everest ACS’ 111-run win over Hunters.

The opener stroked 113 from just 72 balls, featuring 11 fours and four sixes to see Everest ACS reach 228 for six in their 23-over allotment. He added 48 for the first wicket alongside Troy Hayley who made eight runs and went on to add 113 for the second wicket with Wasim Haslim who made a 29-ball 50, highlighted by five fours and one six.

Jugray Singh and Bashir Noory picked up two wickets each for 39 and 57 runs respectively.

In reply, Chris Patandin kept Hunters out the hunt with figures of four for 24 and was supported by Damion Jacobs (2-22) and Devashwari Prashad (2-42). Only Arwinder Singh (37) and Jass Nav Singh (24) managed to get decent starts.

Prashad returned in the following match against LI XI to score a fine half century and help his side to secure a 193-run win.

Everest ACS raced to 333 for seven in 30 overs with their top order blazing the trail. Prashad smashed 70 from 39 balls, decorated with nine fours and two sixes. Alongside Hayley, who made 50 from 32 balls, the pair saw Everest to 116 in the 11th over before the first wicket fell.

That foundation allowed Jeetendra Sookdeo to explode with a 53-ball 93. Sookdeo smashed six sixes and seven fours while adding 87 for the third wicket with Prashad who made 42 from 24 balls. Happy Singh bagged two for 37 and Kamaljeet Singh picked up two for 63.

Jacobs kept LI XI at bay, returning three for 26 while Prashad and Charlton Senior picked up two wickets each as Hardeep Sangha played the lone hand with 87 from 75 balls, featuring 12 fours and three sixes.
