Nine new COVID-19 cases recorded

Nine new COVID-19 cases were recorded yesterday which is significantly lower than the number of cases that have been recorded daily for the last month.

This was disclosed on the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard which showed that nine new cases were recorded, taking Guyana’s total number of cases to 1,328. Three cases were recorded in Region One and Four each, while one case was recorded in Region Seven, and two in Region Nine.

Ninety-six more persons were tested during the last round of testing which is also a low number in comparison to the number of tests that have been done daily over the last month. The total number of persons tested now stands at 8,918.

There are currently 477 persons in home isolation, while 71 persons are in institutional isolation. One hundred and six persons (106) are currently in institutional quarantine while 14 persons are in the COVID-19 intensive care unit. The total number of recovered cases now stands at 779 as 37 more persons have recovered from the virus.
