Heavy vehicles restricted for next few hours on harbour bridge

The Ministry of Public Works is advising users of the Demerara Harbour Bridge, that due to mechanical issues with the retractor span, heavy vehicular traffic will be restricted for the next few hours.

Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill has since visited the site to assess the condition of the span. Additionally, the Minister has ordered the technical crew to devise timely options to resume the free flow of traffic, a release from the ministry said.

Edghill will be providing a detailed report of the situation after receiving further details from the technical staff at the Harbour Bridge.
