Forty-four additional cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and two more deaths were confirmed by the Ministry of Health yesterday.
The deaths are of a 64-year-old male from Potaro-Siparuni and a 94-year-old female from Barima-Waini.
As a result the number of confirmed cases in the country has risen to 2,579. According to the dashboard, 1,483 persons have recovered from the disease while a total of 73 persons who were infected with the disease have died.
Ninety-eight samples were tested yesterday.
