Nuggets’ Millsap turns training center into polling place

Denver Nuggets forward Paul Millsap is turning his training center near Atlanta into a center for early voting.

In a statement issued via the NBA, Millsap said the 44,000-square-foot CORE4 in suburban Chamblee, which he runs with his brothers, will serve as a place for residents of DeKalb County to vote from Oct. 12-30.

“I chose to wear ‘Vote’ on my Denver Nuggets jersey during the 2020 NBA Playoffs to demonstrate my personal passion for the cause,” Millsap wrote in a statement. “However, I was compelled to do more. So, I’m proud to provide access to the CORE4 facility as an early voting polling location in the DeKalb community.” He added in a statement posted to his Twitter account:

“The 2020 Election is believed to be the most important in our lifetime. Therefore, I’ve chosen to become more involved in the voting process by using my social media platform to encourage voting and my facility as a Dekalb County early voting polling station.”

The Atlanta Hawks’ home, State Farm Arena, also is serving as an early voting location for residents of Fulton County.

Millsap, 35, is concluding his 14th NBA season. The Nuggets are down 3-1 in the Western Conference finals to the Los Angeles Lakers.
