Guyana’s COVID death toll rises to 102, man, 28, among latest victims

The Ministry of Health today said that as of October 08th, 2020, four more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 102.

The ministry said that the latest fatalities are a 57-year-old male from Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) and a 43-year-old male from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara). Both persons died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility.

Later, in a separate press release, the ministry said that a 28-year-old male from Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) and a 57-year-old male from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) passed away.
