Kitty man gunned down in Sophia

The Police say they are investigating the murder of Seon Landon aka Gaza, age 27, unemployed and of D’Andrade Street, Newtown, Kitty, Georgetown which occurred yesterday at 6.35 pm  at ‘C’ Field Sophia, allegedly by a 30-year-old male of ‘D’ Field Sophia and another male.

Other details are unknown at this time, the police say, but both men were armed with hand guns.

Enquiries disclosed that on 2020-05-01, one of the suspects along with one Kevin Mc Adam, age 20 years of ‘E’ Field Cummings Park, had shot Landon in the said Cummings Park area which caused him to be hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital from where he was later discharged.

Mc Adam was arrested and charged with attempted murder and is presently on bail, but the other suspect was never arrested. The matter is presently pending at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Yesterday, at 5.45 pm, Landon and his reputed wife went to visit a friend at ‘C’ Field, Sophia after which she left to buy barbeque, leaving the victim and the friend sitting on a bench in front of the friend’s yard.

Further enquiries revealed that about 6.35 pm, while the victim and his friend were still on the bench talking, the two suspects approached on foot and at a short distance away they both pulled out hand guns from their pants pockets, pointed same in the direction of the victim and discharged several rounds which hit him after which he fell to the ground. According to the friend he, the friend, threw himself to the ground immediately and waited until the men left. He sustained no injuries.

After shooting the victim, the two suspects then ran west on the said street and made good their escape.

The victim’s reputed wife returned shortly after to the scene and she along with public-spirited citizens picked up him up and took him to the GPHC in a motor car where he was seen and examined by a Doctor on duty and pronounced dead. The victim sustained five gunshot wounds about the head, arm and body and is presently lying at the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting Post Mortem Examination.

Checks were made to locate the suspects but without success up to this time.
