A Moruca resident was yesterday charged with the murder of Timmol Harris, whose body was pulled from a canal on the East Bank of Essequibo last Tuesday morning.

Randy Williams made his appearance before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him.

He was remanded to prison until January 22nd, 2021.

The body of Harris, a 21-year-old labourer, of Waramuri, Moruca, Region One, was found with a chop wound to the neck.

According to the older brother of the dead man, Lee Harris, Timmol was killed two days after he was threatened by a relative and a friend he had a longstanding feud with. His body was found floating by farmers, some two miles away from a farm where he worked.
