Skeldon doctor robbed of cash, jewellery

A Cuban doctor attached to the Skeldon Public Hospital was yesterday robbed of cash, jewellery and a television after two persons broke into his quarters. 

Based on information gathered, the doctor, Edvardo Gutierrez Alvaeer, 49, who resides in the upper flat of the doctors quarters located in the Skeldon Public Hospital Compound, was asleep when he suddenly woke up to noise coming from the living room. 

Upon checking, he was confronted by two persons, one being armed with a knife. Stabroek News was told that one of the suspects held on to the victim’s neck and relieved him of his gold chains, after which they escaped with the items. 

The perpetrators escaped with $150,000, two gold chains valued $ 510,000 and a television set valued $75,000.
