Men ages 55 and 81 die of COVID

The Ministry of Health yesterday said that two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 153.

The latest fatalities are two men, an 81-year-old from Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) and a 55-year-old from Region One (Barima-Waini).

Meanwhile, 28 more cases of the new coronavirus were registered yesterday, according to the Ministry of Health’s daily dashboard.  Four persons are in the Intensive Care Unit, 52 persons are in institutional isolation and 697 are in home isolation. Twenty-nine persons are in institutional quarantine. To date, 32,011 COVID-19 tests have been conducted.
