40 more COVID-19 cases confirmed

The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday confirmed 40 more COVID-19 cases from the latest batch of available test results.

The results were confirmed from the testing of 306 persons.

According to the MoH’s COVID-19 dashboard, 3 of the cases are from Region One, 4 each from Region Two and Region Six, 2 from Region Three, 7 from Region Four, 1 from Region Seven, and 19 from Region Ten.

Region Four, which is the most populated region, continues to record a high number of new infections.

The dashboard also revealed that 6 persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 47 in institutional isolation, 628 in home isolation and 33 persons in institutional quarantine. So far, 5,044 persons who were infected with the virus have recovered while 154 persons have died.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country have risen to 5,879.

From dashboards released from Sunday to yesterday, 242 positive cases were recorded from the testing of 1,972 persons.
