COVID claims life of man, 72

Guyana yesterday recorded its 156th COVID-19 fatality even as more cases of the virus were reported.

The Ministry of Health in a press release announced that the latest fatality was identified as a 72-year-old man from Region Ten. His death came within 24 hours of the 155th fatality.

Meanwhile, some 23 new cases were reported which increased the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 5,943. The cases came after some 140 more persons were tested for the virus thus increasing the total number of persons tested to 34,038.
