The Guyana and US coast guards today began joint manoeuvres following the arrival in local waters of the US cutter Stone.
The naval exercise area is approximately six nautical miles from Guyana’s coast and in the vicinity of the Demerara Main Ships’ Channel.
The focus of the mission is mainly on illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
