Nineteen new COVID cases registered

Nineteen new COVID-19 cases were recorded yesterday after 165 more persons were tested.

According to the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard, Guyana’s total positive confirmed cases now stand at 6,950. The 165 more persons increased the total number of persons tested in Guyana so far to 44,665.

The cases were recorded in four administrative regions; 14 in Region Four, three in Region Six and one each in Regions Five and Seven. As a result the number of active cases now stands at 568, with 31 of those in institutional isolation and the other 537 in home isolation. The number of persons in the country’s COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit has now increased to six.

Eighteen persons remain in institutional quarantine even as some 33 more persons have recovered from the virus thus increasing the total number of recovered cases in Guyana to 6,206.
