In December of last year, the ERC took legal action against three offenders who committed offences capable of resulting in racial or ethnic violence or hatred among the Guyanese people. The offenders John Gobin, and Steve Anthony Barakat, were arraigned before Magistrate Rondell Weaver on December 9.  Gobin pleaded guilty to the offence and was fined $20,000, while Barakat pleaded not guilty to the offence and was granted bail in the sum of $30,000. His matter was adjourned to January 20th, 2021 for trial.

Meanwhile, Chester, could not be served in December as efforts to locate her were unsuccessful.

The Magistrate subsequently ordered that steps be taken to summon her and the matter was adjourned to January 20.

She was fined on Wednesday.
