Persons gathered at the scene.

A motorcycle, which King recently purchased is also missing. It is suspected that it was taken by the suspect.

The gruesome discovery was made by one of King’s friends, who along with others had been searching for him since Tuesday.

King was clothed in pants and a pair of socks when he was found. There appeared to be chop wounds on  his head.

Sunday Stabroek understands that King celebrated his birthday on Tuesday. He was last seen around 9.30pm imbibing with a group of friends including the suspect at his home.

King’s friends yesterday told this newspaper that they found it strange that they were not seeing or hearing from him. They said he is an individual who always keeps them updated about his whereabouts.

As such, they said they became worried and started to enquire about him. However, despite several attempts they said they were unable to locate him.

Shahid Khan, one of King’s friends related to the police that he went to King’s house on Friday morning to check on him. However, he said when he arrived there he only saw the suspect who was sitting under the house.

Khan reportedly asked the suspect for King and he said that he did not know where he was.

Khan subsequently left and returned to the house yesterday morning when he smelt a “rotten” stench coming from the septic tank area. Upon checking, he saw King’s lifeless body floating in the septic tank.

An alarm was immediately raised and the police were summoned.

Greed

At the scene yesterday, a number of persons including King’s relatives and friends gathered. After about three hours of processing of the crime scene, King’s body was pulled out of the septic tank.

Residents in the community were reluctant to speak to the media.

King’s brother, Ozay King told reporters that he received a call yesterday morning informing him that a body was discovered at the house which his brother occupied.

As a result, he said he went to the scene where he positively identified the body to be that of his brother.

According to Ozay, his brother’s death has left the family with a lot of unanswered questions.

He said Colin might have been killed because of greed over the motorcycle which he recently purchased. “I don’t know if it’s greed. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know what happen,” Ozay said.

“Is the bike mek they know wah really transpire because they said they see somebody else riding the bike and he don’t lend anyone else his bike. So it got to be the bike this come from,” he added.

Meanwhile, persons who were present at the scene related that based on what they heard the suspect was allegedly seen “washing up” and cleaning the house on Wednesday morning.

King’s friends said that the suspect was last seen in the area on Friday night. Prior to this, they said someone related spotting him riding the missing motorcycle in Grove, East Bank Demerara.
