Fifteen-year-old Aditya Mohabir recently had kidney transplant surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). His mom, Nadia Budwah was the donor.
In a post on its Facebook page, GPHC said that Aditya was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure last year and needed dialysis at least three times a week for several months.
The post said that thanks to the transplant team at the GPHC led by Dr. Kishore Persaud, and interventions by the Government of Guyana and the Ministry of Health, Aditya was able to successfully receive the treatment and surgery needed to save his life.
