Dear Editor,
The Right Honourable Commis-sioners of the Ethnic Relations Commission, Haji Dr. Roshan Khan and Neaz Subhan have conveniently omitted some critical information in their epistles to the Kaieteur News and Stabroek News about matters concerning the functioning of the Commission.
One Commissioner in his article to the press had referred to this old Guyanese saying “Mouth Open, Story Jump Out”. I will refer to one of those old sayings also: “There is more in the mortar besides the pestle”.
For instance, could the Commis-sioners say for instance, (1) Who were the major beneficiaries of the Ethnic Relations Commission’s 2019/2020 budgets?; and (2) Did the very Commissioners consider whether contracts entered into by them constituted a conflict of interest?
The Commissioners’ response may very well determine the real motive for writing to the press in the first instance.
