Michael Solomon was today jailed for four years and fined $2.36m dollars after he claimed responsibility for seven pounds of ganja found in a Mercedes convertible on February 12th.

According to the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), three other persons were charged on February 15th in connection with the ganja but Solomon known as `Sono’ of Titus Street, Agricola  then claimed responsibility on March 1st during the first court hearing.  He was then arrested by CANU which conducted an investigation and took a statement from him.

Today, Solomon  appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly in a Georgetown court and pleaded guilty. After clarifications from the magistrate as to whether he knew what he was doing he was sentenced to four years.  The matter has been adjourned to March 19th and CANU says it intends to continue prosecution of the matter.

The other persons charged in the case are Troy Jacobs of 726 Penny Lane, South Ruimveldt; Ivor Anderson of Lot 111 Siparuni, Mahdia and Perez Cush of Lot 213 D’Andrade Street, Newtown, Kitty.
