30 more COVID-19 cases confirmed

The Ministry of Health yesterday confirmed 30 more cases of COVID-19 in Guyana.

The new cases come from the results of 593 tests that were released yesterday.

According to the ministry’s COVID-19 dashboard, 4 of the positive cases are from Region three, 20 from Region Four, 1 each from regions One, Five and Six and 3 from Region Seven.

As a result, the total number of confirmed cases to date has risen to 8,722.

The dashboard also stated that 5 persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 39 in institutional isolation, 386 in home isolation and 9 persons in institutional quarantine. It was stated that 8,099 persons who were infected with the virus have recovered and 200 have died.
