Four COVID deaths recorded today

The Ministry of Health  today reported four deaths due to COVID-19, underlining the grave danger that the virus poses even as vaccinations are underway.

The four deaths take the death toll to 220.

The latest fatalities are a 74-year-old female from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) who died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility, and an 82-year-old male from Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) who died at his home. A swab test was done on arrival at the ministry’s medical facility, which revealed a positive result for COVD-19.
