This is a very upsetting situation.
An unlicensed and uninsured truck driver cornered my relatives at the corner of Duncan and Vlissengen Road on the 9th March, 2021. My relative had his wife and his three year old daughter in the vehicle at the said time of the accident. My relative’s car was badly damaged on the side. The traffic police came and they all went down to Alberttown Police Station. Upon investigation, the truck driver who is working with a trucking business, had no license and insurance. He was placed on $25,000.00 dollars station bail. My relative was summoned to attend court on the 18th March. However, neither the truck driver nor the traffic police showed up. The Magistrate told my relative that the truck driver wasn’t summoned to attend court as yet. I know my relative, truck driver and the traffic police had to attend court at the said time. Corruption and lawlessness cannot stop due to bribery.
I am kindly asking for the relevant authority to intervene into this matter before anyone else gets involved into any accident with this unlicensed and uninsured truck driver. By the way, my three old granddaughter is presently traumatised and is scared to enter a car again.
