Region Four man, 69, dies of COVID, 88 new cases reported

The Ministry of Health yesterday said another person who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 221.

The latest fatality is a 69-year-old male from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) who died while  receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility.

In addition, 88 new cases of the virus were reported yesterday highlighting again as in recent days that the absence of precautions is leading to a major spread of the deadly disease.

The ministry’s dashboard yesterday said that twelve persons are in the COVID ICU.
