65 more COVID-19 cases confirmed

The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday confirmed 65 additional cases of COVID-19 in Guyana.

As a result of the additional cases, the total number of cases in the country has risen to 10, 072.

According to the ministry’s COVID-19 dashboard, 3 of the new cases are from Region Two, 7 from Region Three, 45 from Region Four, 2 each from Region Six and Region Ten, and 6 from Region Seven. These cases emerged from 665 COVID-19 tests that were done.

The dashboard also revealed that there are presently 13 COVID-19 patients in the Intensive Care Unit, 52 in institutional isolation, 992 in home isolation and 19 persons in institutional quarantine. It was reported that 225 persons who were infected with the virus have died and 8842 have recovered.

Based on the dashboard from last Sunday to yesterday, 487 new cases were recorded from 6, 071 tests done during the same period.  There were also eight deaths during that same time.
