Bandits rob men in Mon Repos attack

Two men were robbed at Mon Repos School Road, East Coast Demerara, on Sunday evening.

The two victims, who were identified as Rameez Mohamed and Ryan Singh, were said to be in the company of others when three others attacked them.

According to a Guyana Police Force report, at about 8.30 pm the victims were drinking with friends when one of them noticed the robbers.

The report said while the men ran in different directions Mohamed stumbled and fell, after which he was attacked by two men, who relieved him of a Samsung A71 with sim card, valued at $50,000, a Samsung J8, valued at $40,000, a gold ring, valued $300,000, a gold chain valued at $250,000, and $175,000 cash.

Singh was also caught and hit to his head with a gun by one of the perpetrators, causing him to become unconscious. He was relieved of a Samsung S21 with sim card, valued at $50,000, and $25,000 in cash.

The suspects then escaped on separate bicycles.
