Railway connection to Brazil is a step in the correct direction

Dear Editor,

The recent announcement by the Ministry of Agriculture of plans to implement a railway connection to Brazil for the transport of goods is an excellent step in the correct direction. This is very good news that will benefit the agriculture and productive sectors of the economy. It will also make it easier to develop the interior of the country as the railway system expands to also accommodate tourism and increased trade. Congratulations to President Ali’s administration on their thoughtfulness and foresight in the development of the transportation network of the country. Reestablishment of the railway system of our nation is long overdue. The prior removal of the railway has hindered the development of Guyana during the past 50 years. It is great that our development path will now be put back on track!

Sincerely,
