Woman, 45, among three new COVID fatalities

The Ministry of Health today said that three more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 344.

The latest fatalities are a 45-year-old female and a 68-year-old male from Demerara-Mahaica and a 60-year-old woman from Essequibo Islands-West Demerara.

The ministry said that the patients were admitted with COVID-19-like symptoms but died while receiving care at its medical institutions. Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned positive tests.
