Bartica gets $9m subvention from govt for drainage

Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Nigel Dharamlall today handed over a $9 million subvention cheque to Bartica, the Department of Public Information (DPI) reported.

During the simple handing over at the Bartica Town Hall, Dharamlall said the cheque will be going towards the enhancement of drainage infrastructure in the Region Seven town.

The $9 million subvention is the first tranche of a total of $18 million which will be used to improve drainage infrastructure in the town. Dharamlall urged the town council to execute the works in an open and transparent manner.
